Update to my Website 2003
29th October 2003
My family research in 2003 has taken me to a few families and the 1901 Census now online has been a great help in finding relatives.
About six months ago I was asked to research my cousin's family of Bryan Margaret Lowe one of my mother's older sisters married William Bryan and they had four children. Unfortunately he died when he was about 32 years of age and left her to bring up a young family. He had been in the police force so they went to a police orphanage for some of the time to help her cope. Doreen Bryan asked me could I find where her grandmother Alice Jefferies was born and there were so many Alice Jefferies I gave up until I found her on the 1901 census living in Railway Terrace Bryn with her husband Herbert Bryan and their children. I then sent all the details I had to Doreen's neice who is now continuing the research.
After this research I was asked by another cousin Dorothy her father was Fred Phythian who married another of my mother's older sister's Susannah (Annie). You will find details of the Phythians family on another page of my website.
I then went back to my Nicholson family and found Mary Ann Nicholson in the 1901 Census. She was living in Cinderford, Gloucester with Agnes Donaldson a Salvation Army Officer. I knew Mary Ann became a Salvationist and went to live in Carn Brea, Cornwall and died there in about 1931. I am still searching for her marriage.
Later this year I also helped another cousin Alan his mother is my mother's youngest sister and she was married to Thomas Bromelow. I have sent Alan details of the Bromelow family as far as I can ascertain and he is hoping to follow up on the research.
This has been quite a busy year for my Family Research and I hope to research all the families further next year. I have found relatives through Genes connected and have visited the saga site called Saga Circles.
Please contact me if you think I may be able to help with your research or that any of the names ring any bells.
